Select the Instance Image

Scroll down through the list and select the instance you would like to create. in this case I will use the Windows Server 2016 Base image. Notice the instance types are tagged which ones are free tier eligible.

Select the Instance Type

This page should default to the t2.micro which is a small, but free machine to operate. The others listed are larger machines and you will incur some cost for using these. If you find that this computer is not fast enough for your task, you can upgrade it later on the fly. This is one of the big advantages of cloud computing is the ease in which you can add resources to your projects. For this exercise simple select the default. Click the Review and Launch button.
